BEWARE OF PRIDE

INTRODUCTION:
The writer of Proverbs tells us that “God hates the proud look” and that
“There is more hope for a fool than a man who is wise in his own conceit.”

Think about it, “Do you want God to look at you and see something He hates.” No! Well, He hates a proud look. A proud look is the facial expression that proceeds from a proud heart.

Think about it, “Do you want God to look at your life and see something that will cause Him to resist you?” No! Well, the Word of God says, God resist the proud!

The problem with PRIDE is its middle letter. It is the self-centered life. It is the “Big Me” and “Little You” type of thinking. So in this message I want to make you hate the thing that God hates. The way I am going to attempt to do that is by reminding you of what Pride will cause in your life:

1. Pride will cause you to miss God and find trouble.
Proverbs “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.”

ILLUS—One of the more recent technological developments has been the Global Satellite Positioning device, or GPS. You can look on a map and then see where you are in relation to where you are going. If you don’t know where you are going, you can just check it as you move and see the direction you are headed and then you can know where you are going.

Similarly, you can look into your life and if you see Pride, the Bible tells you that you can know where you are headed—toward destruction and a fall.

2. Pride will cause you to see the faults of others but not your own.
Luke 18: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, `God, I thank You that I am not like other men–extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 `I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 “And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise [his] eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, `God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

QUESTION–In the above story, who got attention? Both of them did. One got man’s attention. The other got God’s attention.

Even the world is turned off by a boastful arrogant individual who thinks they are better than everybody else.

There is a principle in the above story. The man who makes himself tall will in the end be made small.

3. Pride will cause you to have a faulty view of God and self–this is what happened to the devil.

1 Timothy 3:6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the [same] condemnation as the devil.

ILLUS–In other words, PRIDE blinds us to who we really are. Therefore we become too self-important and begin thinking the earth actually rotates around us. Remind you of someone else? Reminds me of what happened to Lucifer who fell from Heaven. Yep, he got to looking at himself and comparing how much more beautiful he was than the other angels, and then the next thing you know, he thinks he should be God. What happened? He fell. What awaits him? Eternal destruction.

Pride will cause you to follow the wrong set of footprints dear friend!

4. Pride will cause God to resist you.
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to [your] elders. Yes, all of [you] be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Illus—In a football game we often see a running back put out a stiff arm to keep a defender from tackling him. To me, this is the picture I see in the above verse. God stiff arms the person who has pride. In other words, whatever God is carrying, you can’t get to it if there is pride in the way.

5. Pride will cause you NOT to submit to God and NOT resist the Devil.
James 4: 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

NO SUBMISSION TO GOD
-Pride is a prayer killer.
Prayers from a proud heart go no further than our own ears which is why the proud person prays anyway, to hear himself.

NO RESISTANCE TO THE DEVIL

Illus—There is a terrible flu season going on this year. People are being encouraged to have their flu shots in order to create resistance to the flu virus going around. People take the vaccinations because they don’t want the flu to attack them if it comes near them.

If there were no other reason to avoid PRIDE it would be enough to know that PRIDE will take away your resistance to the Devil. You do not have the power to overcome and defeat the Devil with PRIDE in your heart. PRIDE I self-reliance and you can’t defeat the Devil without relying on the power of Jesus Christ.

CONCLUSION—I am calling on this church to be filled with hatred! Yes, hatred! May God help us to hate PRIDE when we see in our lives.

God hates pride, therefore we should hate pride.

CONQUERING FEAR AND WALKING IN DOMINION

INTRODUCTION:
Fear is one of the greatest hindrances to progress and destiny fulfilment. It cripples vision, paralyzes faith, and prevents people from stepping into their God-ordained future. Many destinies have been stagnated or aborted because of fear—fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of the unknown, or fear of opposition.

God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. This means that fear is not from God, it is a tool the devil uses to limit and enslave. However, believers are not designed to live in fear. We are meant to operate in dominion, authority, and divine confidence.

In this teaching, we shall uncover how to overcome fear through the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the boldness of faith. When fear is conquered, dominion becomes a reality.

1. FEAR IS A SPIRIT THAT MUST BE RESISTED
Fear is not merely an emotion; it is a spirit that must be rejected and cast out.

a) Fear torments and enslaves (1 John 4:18)
Fear brings torment and keeps people in bondage to past failures, future uncertainty, and present intimidation.

b) Fear blocks divine revelation and faith (Matthew 14:30)
Peter began to sink the moment he focused on the storm rather than Jesus; fear blocks our spiritual sight.

c) Fear limits bold steps of faith (Proverbs 29:25)
The fear of man can be a snare, stopping you from doing what God has placed in your heart.

d) Fear contradicts the nature of God in us (2 Timothy 1:7)
God has given us a spirit of power, not fear. We are empowered to stand and overcome.

Biblical Example: The 10 fearful spies (Numbers 13:31–33)
They saw themselves as grasshoppers and discouraged the people. Fear robbed them of Canaan.

2. FAITH IS THE CURE FOR FEAR
You can’t overcome fear by mere willpower, it takes faith in God and His Word.

a) Faith comes by hearing God’s Word (Romans 10:17)
The more of God’s Word you hear and believe, the less fear will have room in your heart.

b) Faith reminds you of who you are in Christ (Galatians 2:20)
When you understand your identity in Christ, you rise above fear.

c) Faith focuses on the promises, not the problems (Hebrews 11:11)
Sarah judged God faithful and received strength to conceive even at an old age.

d) Faith declares victory before manifestation (Mark 11:23)
Speaking the Word in faith silences fear and attracts God’s intervention.

Biblical Example: David before Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45–47)
He refused to fear the giant because he had faith in the God who delivered him before.

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS BOLDNESS
Boldness is a product of the Holy Spirit, not self-confidence.

a) The Holy Spirit gives courage to speak and act (Acts 4:31)
After they prayed, they were filled with boldness to preach the Word fearlessly.

b) The Spirit bears witness of God’s presence in us (Romans 8:16)
Knowing you are never alone builds confidence against fear.

c) The Holy Spirit brings divine assurance (John 14:26–27)
He reminds us of God’s Word and fills our hearts with peace.

d) The Spirit empowers us to exercise authority (Luke 10:19)
You have power over serpents and scorpions, use it!

Biblical Example: Apostle Paul (Acts 20:22–24)
Though warned of chains and trouble, Paul moved forward without fear by the Spirit.

4. RENEW YOUR MIND TO WALK IN DOMINION
Fear thrives in ignorance and mental strongholds, renewing your mind sets you free.

a) You are not a slave but a son (Romans 8:15)
God has adopted you, you are not to fear like one without hope.

b) God is always with you (Isaiah 41:10)
Knowing His abiding presence removes fear of circumstances.

c) Dominion begins with right thinking (Proverbs 23:7)
As a man thinks, so he is; dominion is first in the mind.

d) Speak God’s Word until it becomes your mindset (Joshua 1:8)
Meditating and speaking the Word makes you fearless and prosperous.

Biblical Example: Gideon (Judges 6:12–16)
Though fearful, God called him a mighty man and transformed his mindset for victory.

5. WALKING IN LOVE DRIVES OUT FEAR
Love and fear cannot coexist, perfect love casts out fear.

a) God’s love gives assurance of safety (Psalm 91:1–2)
When you dwell in His love, you are covered under His shadow.

b) Love for God inspires obedience, not fear (1 John 4:18)
We serve Him out of love, not dread, which empowers boldness.

c) Love makes us fearless in the face of trials (Romans 8:35–39)
Nothing can separate us from His love, not even death.
d) Love for others releases you from self-centred fears (Philippians 2:3–4)
Loving others shifts your focus and gives courage to serve.

Biblical Example: Esther (Esther 4:15–16)
Her love for her people made her face the king at the risk of death.

CONCLUSION:
Fear is a thief that must be cast out for you to fulfil destiny. The more you submit to the spirit of fear, the less you will walk in dominion. But as you grow in faith, yield to the Holy Spirit, and renew your mind in God’s Word, you will conquer fear and live boldly.

God has called you to a life of dominion, not defeat. Choose to reject fear and embrace the power, love, and sound mind available through Christ Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, I reject and cast out every spirit of fear in my life.
2. Lord, fill me with boldness through the power of the Holy Spirit.
3. I receive grace to walk by faith and not by sight.
4. Every fear holding me back from my assignment, be broken in Jesus’ name.
5. Holy Spirit, renew my mind daily with the truth of God’s Word.
6. I declare I have dominion over fear, doubt, and anxiety.
7. Lord, help me to act in faith even when the situation looks threatening.
8. I receive courage to face every challenge with confidence in God.

Description: Divine preservation is God’s supernatural protection and sustaining power over His children, shielding them from harm, danger, and destruction while ensuring they fulfill their destiny.

INTRODUCTION:
One of the greatest assurances that believers have in Christ is the promise of divine preservation. God does not just redeem us from sin; He also guards our lives against danger and sustains us so that we can walk in His plan. Divine preservation means that the Lord Himself becomes our shield, our covering, and our refuge in times of trouble.

In a world filled with uncertainty, fear, and wickedness, many live under the constant threat of harm or premature death. Yet, the child of God is not left to the mercy of circumstances or human protection alone. Instead, we are divinely covered by God’s mighty hand and surrounded by His angelic forces.

Understanding and walking in divine preservation gives the believer confidence to face life without fear. It assures us that until our assignment is completed, our lives are hidden in Christ, and no weapon formed against us can prosper.

1. GOD IS THE SOURCE OF PRESERVATION
True preservation does not come from human efforts, security systems, or physical strength; it comes from the Lord who watches over His people.

a) The Lord Our Keeper (Psalm 121:5–6) – God never sleeps nor slumbers; He is constantly watching to ensure no harm overtakes His children.

b) Divine Refuge (Proverbs 18:10) – The name of the Lord is a strong tower where the righteous run for safety and cannot be reached by the enemy.

c) The Promise of Protection (Isaiah 41:10) – God promises His presence, strength, and upholding hand to keep us from falling into destruction.

d) The Faithfulness of God (2 Thessalonians 3:3) – God is faithful to establish His people and protect them from the schemes of the wicked one.

Biblical Example: Noah was preserved from the flood by divine instruction and provision (Genesis 7:1–24). While destruction came upon the earth, Noah and his family were kept safe because God was their source of preservation.

2.  DIVINE PRESERVATION THROUGH COVENANT RELATIONSHIP
God’s preservation is guaranteed for those who belong to Him and walk in obedience to His covenant.

a) The Covenant of Life (Psalm 91:14–16) – God promises long life and deliverance to those who love Him and remain devoted to Him.

b) The Blood Covenant (Exodus 12:13) – The blood of the lamb preserved the Israelites from destruction, foreshadowing the blood of Jesus that secures believers today.

c) Obedience to Instructions (Deuteronomy 28:1–6) – Walking in God’s Word activates His promises of protection over every area of life.

d) Angelic Protection (Psalm 34:7) – The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, shielding them from danger.

Biblical Example: The Israelites in Goshen were preserved from the plagues of Egypt (Exodus 8:22-23). Their covenant with God exempted them from the destruction that befell others.

3.   DIVINE PRESERVATION IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
God does not promise that troubles will never come, but He assures us that His preservation will sustain us in the midst of trials.

a) Preservation in the Fire (Isaiah 43:2) – Even when passing through fire or water, God promises that they shall not overwhelm His children.

b) Deliverance from Evil (John 17:15) – Jesus prayed that the Father would keep believers from the evil one while they remain in the world.

c) Victory Over Weapons of the Enemy (Isaiah 54:17) – No weapon fashioned against the believer can succeed because of divine covering.

d) Peace in the Midst of Storms (Mark 4:39–41) – God’s preservation does not only shield from danger but also brings peace and calm in chaotic situations.

Biblical Example: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were preserved in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:24-27). Not even the smell of fire was found on them because God’s presence was with them.

4.   RESPONSIBILITIES TO WALK IN DIVINE PRESERVATION

Though preservation is God’s work, believers have responsibilities to remain under His covering.

a) Living in Righteousness (Psalm 34:19) – The righteous may face afflictions, but God delivers them from all, making righteousness a key to divine preservation.

b) Faith and Trust in God (Psalm 91:2) – Trusting God as refuge and fortress brings the believer into His supernatural protection.

c) Prayer and Declaration (Job 22:28) – Constant prayer and prophetic declarations build a shield over the believer’s life.

d) Dwelling in God’s Presence (Psalm 91:1) – Staying in close fellowship with God ensures continued covering under His shadow.

Biblical Example: Daniel was preserved in the lion’s den because of his righteousness, trust, and consistent prayer life (Daniel 6:22).

CONCLUSION:
Divine preservation is the heritage of the believer. It is not dependent on human ability but on God’s covenant faithfulness and power. In a world where danger and uncertainty abound, the Lord assures us of His keeping hand, His angelic protection, and His covenant promises.

Our responsibility is to remain under His covering through faith, obedience, and consistent fellowship. As long as we walk with God, no evil will befall us, and no power will be able to cut short our lives or destiny. Divine preservation ensures we fulfill our God-given purpose in peace and victory.

1. Lord, I thank You for being my refuge and my shield of preservation.
2. Father, by Your mercy, preserve me and my household from every form of evil.

HEAVEN SHALL REMEMBER ME

INTRODUCTION:
There are moments in life when it feels like your efforts, prayers, and sacrifices have gone unnoticed. You may be labouring faithfully, praying earnestly, and walking uprightly, yet nothing seems to shift. It is in such seasons that divine remembrance becomes crucial.

Heaven’s remembrance is not simply mental recall—it is an intentional act of God to intervene in your situation. When God remembers a person, protocols are broken, favour is released, and stories are rewritten. Divine remembrance is often a turning point that transitions people from obscurity to honour.

In Esther 6, we see how Mordecai, who had done a good deed but remained unrewarded, was remembered in a divine moment of favour. God caused the king’s sleep to be disturbed so that Mordecai could be honoured. Likewise, when heaven remembers you, no earthly system can stop your lifting.

1. GOD NEVER FORGETS THE RIGHTEOUS
Even when men forget your good deeds, God keeps records.

a) God Records Every Righteous Act (Malachi 3:16)
A book of remembrance is kept in heaven for those who fear Him.

b) Delay is Not Denial (Habakkuk 2:3)
Even if your reward tarries, it will surely come in God’s time.

c) God’s Memory is Redemptive (Genesis 8:1)
God remembered Noah and turned judgment into mercy and new beginnings.

d) The Cry of the Righteous is Heard (Psalm 34:15)
The Lord watches over the righteous and hears their cry.

Biblical Example: God remembered Rachel and opened her womb (Genesis 30:22).

2. HEAVEN’S REMEMBRANCE INTERRUPTS EARTH’S ROUTINE
When God remembers you, natural order is suspended for your sake.

a) Divine Remembrance Causes Restlessness in High Places (Esther 6:1)
The king could not sleep because it was Mordecai’s day of lifting.

b) God Commands Honour Through Unlikely People (Esther 6:6–10)
Even Haman, the enemy, was used to honour Mordecai.

c) Your Season of Reward Will Locate You (Galatians 6:9)
If you don’t give up, your due season of remembrance will come.

d) No Effort is Wasted in God’s Kingdom (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Your labour in the Lord is never in vain.

Biblical Example: Pharaoh’s butler finally remembered Joseph at the appointed time (Genesis 41:9-14).

3. GOD REMEMBERS COVENANT PEOPLE
Divine remembrance is often tied to covenant faithfulness.

a) God is Faithful to His Promises (Isaiah 49:15–16)
Even if a mother forgets, God cannot forget His covenant child.

b) Remembrance Activates Divine Visitation (Luke 1:13)
Zachariah’s prayer was remembered, and John was born.

c) God’s Covenant Secures Future Generations (Genesis 9:15–16)
He remembers His promises to a thousand generations.

d) When God Remembers, the Impossible Becomes Possible (Luke 1:36–37)
Elizabeth’s barrenness was broken because of divine remembrance.

Biblical Example: God remembered His covenant with Abraham and delivered Israel (Exodus 2:24).

4. POSITION YOURSELF FOR DIVINE REMEMBRANCE
There are certain attitudes and actions that invite God’s remembrance.

a) Walk in the Fear of the Lord (Psalm 112:1–6)
God delights in those who honour Him and keeps their memory.

b) Be Faithful in Service Even When Unnoticed (Colossians 3:23–24)
Do your work unto the Lord, not for human praise.

c) Be Persistent in Prayer (Luke 18:7–8)
Those who cry out to God day and night will be remembered.

d) Sow Righteous Seeds (Ecclesiastes 11:6)
Your seed will speak for you in your day of divine visitation.

Biblical Example: Cornelius’ alms and prayers came up as a memorial before God (Acts 10:1-4).

CONCLUSION:
Heaven’s remembrance is your key to divine turnaround. No good deed, faithful prayer, or act of obedience is ever wasted in the eyes of God. Just like Mordecai, your time of honour is coming. You will not be forgotten; your name will be called at the gates of promotion and honour.

The God who remembered Noah, Rachel, and Mordecai is still in the business of remembering His people. When heaven remembers you, the story changes, and long-awaited blessings manifest suddenly. Expect divine interruption and elevation—because heaven shall remember you!

1. Lord, let my name be remembered for honour and lifting.
2. Father, disturb the sleep of those who hold my reward.
3. O God, remember every seed I have sown and every prayer I have made.
4. Let every delay in my reward be broken in Jesus’ name.

2. Your long-forgotten labour shall speak in this season!
3. Those who forgot you will be compelled to remember you for good!

Description: Open doors symbolise divine opportunities, breakthroughs, and access granted by God for advancement, blessing, and fulfilment of destiny.

INTRODUCTION:
In Scripture, open doors represent divine access; God granting His children opportunities to enter new realms of favour, influence, and success. When God opens a door, no human authority or demonic power can shut it. These doors may appear in different forms: the door of salvation, ministry, business, promotion, or supernatural breakthrough.

However, open doors do not occur automatically. They are governed by divine principles. Just as keys unlock physical doors, there are spiritual keys that unlock divine opportunities. Understanding and applying these keys help believers to access what God has already prepared for them.

In this study, we shall explore the biblical keys that open divine doors and how we can position ourselves to walk into new dimensions of blessings ordained by God.

1. THE KEY OF SALVATION AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
No one can experience true open doors without first entering through the door of salvation in Christ Jesus.

a) Jesus is the Door (John 10:9)
Jesus declared Himself as the door through which we find salvation, access, and abundant life. Without Him, every other door remains closed.

b) Righteousness gives access to divine favour (Psalm 5:12)
God surrounds the righteous with favour like a shield, causing doors to open in their favour.

c) Sin shuts spiritual doors (Isaiah 59:2)
Sin separates us from God and blocks the flow of divine blessings. A clean heart opens the way for God’s visitation.

d) A repentant heart restores divine access (1 John 1:9)
Confession and repentance reopen closed doors and restore fellowship with God.

Biblical Example: The prodigal son’s repentance opened the door of restoration and acceptance by his father (Luke 15:17-24).

2. THE KEY OF FAITH AND OBEDIENCE
Faith and obedience are powerful keys that unlock supernatural doors of favour and miracles.

a) Faith activates divine possibilities (Hebrews 11:6)
It is impossible to please God without faith. Faith moves mountains and opens divine doors of breakthrough.

b) Obedience brings divine approval (Deuteronomy 28:1–2)
When we obey God’s commands, blessings and open doors follow us naturally.

c) Unbelief limits divine operations (Matthew 13:58)
Where faith is absent, divine doors remain closed because God honours trust.

d) Prompt obedience releases supernatural intervention (Luke 5:4–6)
Peter’s obedience to Jesus’ instruction brought an overflow of blessings after a night of failure.

Biblical Example: Abraham’s faith and obedience to God’s voice opened doors to generational blessings (Genesis 22:16-18).

3. THE KEY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING
Prayer is a spiritual master key that opens both earthly and heavenly doors, while thanksgiving sustains what prayer unlocks.

a) Persistent prayer opens closed doors (Acts 12:5–10)
The early church prayed earnestly for Peter, and God sent an angel to open the prison doors.

b) Thanksgiving maintains open doors (Philippians 4:6–7)
Gratitude demonstrates faith and invites God’s continuous intervention in our lives.

c) Prayer gives access to divine mysteries (Jeremiah 33:3)
Through prayer, God reveals hidden secrets that lead to new opportunities.

d) Unceasing prayer builds divine connection (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
A life of constant communion with God ensures that heavenly doors remain open.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s consistent prayer life opened the door to divine revelation and deliverance in Babylon (Daniel 6:10, 22).

4. THE KEY OF SERVICE AND HUMILITY
Serving God wholeheartedly and maintaining a humble spirit attract divine promotion and open doors of honour.

a) God rewards faithful service (Exodus 23:25–26)
Serving the Lord opens doors of health, fruitfulness, and divine provision.

b) Humility attracts divine elevation (James 4:6, 10)
God lifts those who walk in humility and grants them access to higher realms.

c) Diligent service brings recognition (Proverbs 22:29)
Excellence in service opens doors to kings and great opportunities.

d) Selfless service invites divine partnership (Colossians 3:23–24)
When we serve with sincerity, God becomes our rewarder and opens doors no man can shut.

Biblical Example: Joseph’s faithful service in Potiphar’s house and prison opened the door to the palace (Genesis 39:2-4, 41:39-41).

CONCLUSION:
God is the ultimate opener of doors. When He opens a door, no opposition can close it. Yet, He expects us to apply the spiritual keys He has revealed in His Word—salvation, faith, obedience, prayer, and service. These keys are not mere actions but attitudes of the heart that align us with divine will.

If you desire open doors of favour, opportunity, and destiny fulfilment, commit yourself to living righteously, obeying God fully, praying persistently, and serving faithfully. Then, watch God open unimaginable doors before you and usher you into seasons of breakthrough and elevation.

God is a God of opportunities. He opens doors that lead to salvation, breakthrough, deliverance, and divine promotion.

INTRODUCTION:
In Scripture, an open door symbolises divine opportunity, access, and favour. When God opens a door, no power can shut it. Every open door signifies a season of new beginnings, fresh possibilities, and supernatural advancement.

Throughout the Bible, God opened doors for His people; doors of ministry, deliverance, and destiny fulfilment. These open doors are not earned by human effort but granted through grace, faith, and obedience.

In this study, we shall examine the various kinds of open doors God offers to His children and how we can walk through them by faith and perseverance.

1. THE DOOR OF SALVATION
God’s first open door to humanity is the door of salvation. Through Christ Jesus, He has made a way for all to be reconciled to Himself.

a) Christ the Door (John 10:9)
Jesus declared Himself as the door of salvation, meaning He is the only access to eternal life.

b) The Door of Grace (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Salvation is not achieved by works but received through grace and faith in Jesus Christ.

c) The Door of Reconciliation (Romans 5:10-11)
The open door of salvation brings peace between God and man.

d) The Door of New Life (2 Corinthians 5:17)
When we walk through this door, we become new creations in Christ Jesus.

Biblical Example: The thief on the cross entered the door of salvation by believing in Jesus at the last hour (Luke 23:39-43).

2. THE DOOR OF DELIVERANCE
God opens doors to rescue His people from bondage, captivity, and oppression.

a) Deliverance from Sin and Bondage (Romans 6:14)
Sin no longer has dominion over those who are in Christ.

b) Deliverance from Enemies (Psalm 34:19)
The Lord opens a way of escape from every affliction and oppression.

c) Deliverance from Fear (2 Timothy 1:7)
God opens the door to a sound mind, replacing fear with faith.

d) Deliverance through His Word (Psalm 107:20)
God’s Word is a door to healing and restoration.

Biblical Example: Peter was delivered from prison when God opened the prison doors by angelic intervention (Acts 12:6-10).

3. THE DOOR OF BREAKTHROUGH
God also opens doors that lead to success, progress, and promotion in life and ministry.

a) Door of Opportunities (1 Corinthians 16:9)
Paul recognised that God opens great and effective doors for ministry.

b) Door of Divine Favour (Psalm 5:12)
When God favours you, doors open where others struggle.

c) Door of Promotion (Psalm 75:6-7)
True elevation comes when God opens the door of advancement.

d) Door of Fruitfulness (Genesis 1:28)
God desires that His children be fruitful in all areas of life.

Biblical Example: Joseph experienced a divine door of breakthrough when God promoted him from the prison to the palace (Genesis 41:14-41).

4. THE DOOR OF REVELATION AND WISDOM
God opens doors of understanding and divine insight to those who seek Him.

a) Revelation of His Word (Psalm 119:130)
The entrance of God’s Word gives light and understanding.

b) Revelation of His Will (Ephesians 1:17-18)
God grants revelation to those who desire to know His divine plan.

c) Revelation of His Power (Philippians 3:10)
The more we know Christ, the more His power is revealed in us.

d) Revelation through the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10)
The Holy Spirit opens the door of deep spiritual understanding.

Biblical Example: Daniel received divine revelations and wisdom that distinguished him in Babylon (Daniel 2:19-23).

5. THE DOOR OF ETERNAL GLORY
The ultimate open door is the entrance into eternal life with Christ in heaven.

a) The Promise of Eternal Life (John 14:2-3)
Jesus has gone to prepare a place for all who believe in Him.

b) The Door of Heaven (Revelation 4:1)
John saw a door standing open in heaven, symbolising access to God’s eternal glory.

c) The Door for the Faithful (Matthew 25:21)
Those who serve faithfully will enter into the joy of the Lord.

d) The Door of Reward (2 Timothy 4:8)
Eternal crowns await all who remain steadfast till the end.

Biblical Example: Stephen saw heaven opened and Jesus standing at the right hand of God as he entered eternal glory (Acts 7:55-56).

CONCLUSION:
God opens different doors for His children according to His divine plan and timing. When one door closes, another opens; often greater and better. We must be spiritually alert, prayerful, and faithful to walk through every open door God provides.

Every open door carries responsibility. It demands obedience, faith, and perseverance. As we walk in alignment with God’s will, no power shall be able to shut the doors He opens before us.

9. You shall enter into your season of divine enlargement and fruitfulness.

THE DANGER OF SPIRITUAL COMPROMISE – Standing Firm in a Corrupt World

OPENING PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of life and for bringing us together in Your presence today. Lord, as we study Your Word, open our eyes to see the dangers of compromise and strengthen our hearts to stand firm in this corrupt world. Holy Spirit, be our Teacher and Guide; grant us wisdom, conviction, and boldness to remain faithful no matter the cost. We silence every distraction and yield ourselves to Your truth. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

INTRODUCTION
We live in a world that constantly demands compromise. The culture around us pressures believers to lower their standards, dilute their convictions, and conform to the trends of society. Spiritual compromise is one of the greatest dangers facing Christians today. It rarely happens suddenly; it is often a gradual shift from full obedience to partial obedience, from absolute devotion to mixed allegiance. The Scriptures warn us repeatedly that compromise with sin and the world leads to destruction (James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17).

Daniel 3:16-18 records the famous response of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when commanded to bow to the golden image of Nebuchadnezzar. They boldly declared: “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

This refusal to compromise in the face of death is contrasted with the warning Jesus gave to the church in Pergamos: “But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.” (Revelation 2:14).

From these passages we see two choices: standing firm like the Hebrew boys or falling into compromise like Israel under Balaam’s counsel. Let us explore the danger of spiritual compromise and how believers can stand firm in a corrupt world.

1. WHAT IS SPIRITUAL COMPROMISE?

Spiritual compromise means mixing the holy with the unholy, the sacred with the profane, the truth with error. It is when a believer tries to please both God and the world. Jesus warned, “No man can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24).

Compromise often begins subtly. Eve compromised in the Garden by entertaining the serpent’s question rather than standing firmly on God’s Word (Genesis 3:1–6).

Israel compromised when they asked for a king “like other nations” (1 Samuel 8:5), rejecting God’s kingship.

Samson compromised by revealing his secret to Delilah, which eventually cost him his strength and vision (Judges 16:17–21).

Compromise is not about negotiation in human matters but about yielding in spiritual matters where God demands absolute loyalty.

2. THE ROOTS OF COMPROMISE

a) Fear of man – Many compromise because they are afraid of persecution, rejection, or ridicule. Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”

b) Desire for acceptance – Lot compromised by living in Sodom and gradually lost his spiritual influence (Genesis 13:12–13; 19:14–16). Many Christians want to “fit in” with society and end up lowering God’s standards.

c) Love of money and material gain – Balaam compromised his prophetic calling because of greed (Numbers 22:7–21; Jude 1:11). Today, many still exchange truth for material benefit.

d) Spiritual laziness – When believers stop praying, reading the Word, and guarding their hearts, compromise seeps in (Matthew 26:41).

e) Gradual desensitisation – Compromise is often like erosion; it happens little by little until the foundation is destroyed (Song of Solomon 2:15 – “the little foxes spoil the vine”).

3. BIBLICAL WARNINGS AGAINST COMPROMISE
The Bible consistently shows the dangers of compromise:

Solomon – His love for foreign women led him into idolatry (1 Kings 11:1–11). His wisdom could not save him when he chose compromise.

Israel in the wilderness – When Moses delayed on the mountain, the people compromised by building the golden calf (Exodus 32:1–6). This led to God’s wrath and judgment.

Demas – A fellow worker of Paul, who later forsook him, “having loved this present world” (2 Timothy 4:10).

Pergamos church – Rebuked by Christ for tolerating false doctrine and immorality (Revelation 2:12–17).

The danger is clear: compromise separates us from God, weakens our testimony, and brings judgment.

4. THE COST OF SPIRITUAL COMPROMISE

a) Loss of spiritual authority – Samson lost his strength and became a mockery (Judges 16:20–21).

b) Loss of divine protection – Israel compromised with Moab and came under God’s judgment (Numbers 25:1–9).

c) Broken fellowship with God – Compromise quenches the Spirit and grieves Him (Ephesians 4:30).

d) Eternal consequence – Persistent compromise can lead to eternal separation from God (Hebrews 10:26–27).

Compromise may appear to bring temporary relief or benefit, but the long-term cost is always destruction (Proverbs 14:12).

5. HOW TO STAND FIRM IN A CORRUPT WORLD

a) Have unshakable convictions – Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we must determine to stand even if God does not deliver us (Daniel 3:17-18).

b) Be rooted in God’s Word – Jesus overcame Satan’s temptation by declaring “It is written” (Matthew 4:1-11). Without the Word, compromise is inevitable.

c) Live in the fear of God – Joseph refused Potiphar’s wife because he feared sinning against God (Genesis 39:9).

d) Be filled with the Holy Spirit – The Spirit empowers believers to resist worldly pressure (Acts 4:31; Galatians 5:16).

e) Separate from ungodly influences – 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 commands believers not to be unequally yoked.

f) Count the cost of discipleship – Jesus said following Him requires denying self and carrying the cross daily (Luke 9:23).

6. REWARDS OF REFUSING TO COMPROMISE

a) Divine protection – God preserved the Hebrew boys in the fire (Daniel 3:25-27).

b) Divine promotion – Their faithfulness led to their promotion (Daniel 3:30).

c) Divine commendation – Jesus praised the faithful church in Philadelphia for keeping His Word (Revelation 3:8-10).

d) Eternal reward – Those who endure to the end will receive the crown of life (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10).

7. LESSONS FROM DANIEL’S FRIENDS

They resolved beforehand not to bow. Compromise is defeated when convictions are made before the test (Daniel 1:8).

They stood together in unity. It is easier to resist compromise when you have like-minded believers around you (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).

They trusted God completely. Faith in God’s sovereignty strengthened their resolve.

CONCLUSION
Spiritual compromise is subtle but deadly. It weakens faith, destroys testimony, and leads to God’s judgment. The world is corrupt, and pressures to compromise abound in workplaces, schools, politics, and even churches. Yet God calls His people to be holy, separate, and uncompromising.

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we must be ready to stand firm even if it costs us our lives. Better to be in the fire with Jesus than to bow to idols without Him. Revelation 3:11 warns, “Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

May we be among those who refuse to bow, who reject Balaam’s doctrine, and who remain faithful to the end.

Father, we bless Your holy name for speaking to us today. Thank You for reminding us that compromise is deadly and faithfulness is rewarding. Lord, help us to live with unshakable convictions like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Deliver us from every trap of Balaam and every subtle temptation of the enemy. Basics for salvation

1.God created us to have a relationship with Him, but our sin separates us from His holiness (Romans 3:23).

2. Sin leads to death and eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23).

3. In His love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life and die for our sins (John 3:16).

4. Jesus took the punishment we deserve, dying on the cross, and then rose from the dead, defeating sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

5. Through His sacrifice, Jesus offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who trust in Him (Ephesians 2:8-9).

6. Salvation is a free gift-you cannot earn it; you must believe and accept Jesus as your Savior (John 14:6).

7. Turn from your sins and place your faith in Jesus to receive a new life and peace with God (Acts 3:19).

8. Today, Jesus invites you to trust Him. Surrender your life to Him and experience His love, grace, and eternal hope (Romans 10:9).
